## Pardot integration Pardot — now **Salesforce Account Engagement** — is Salesforce's B2B marketing automation platform. Integrating Pardot with Frontegg lets your application read and manage prospects, lists, campaigns, and other Account Engagement data on behalf of your users — all through Frontegg's integration layer (Account Engagement API v5). Pardot authenticates with OAuth 2.0 through a Salesforce **Connected App**, so you create a Connected App in Salesforce to obtain a Client ID and Client Secret. Because Account Engagement is multi-tenant within Salesforce, you also provide your **Business Unit ID**. Prerequisites - A [Salesforce Account Engagement (Pardot)](https://www.salesforce.com/products/marketing/b2b-marketing-automation/) account - Salesforce administrator access to create a Connected App and to read the Business Unit ID ### Connect to Pardot You create a Salesforce Connected App with OAuth enabled. The app provides the **Client ID** (Consumer Key) and **Client Secret** (Consumer Secret) and defines the **callback URL** that Salesforce returns users to after they authorize access. You also need your Account Engagement **Business Unit ID**. #### Step 1: Create a Connected App Sign in to Salesforce and go to **Setup → App Manager → New Connected App** (Create a Connected App). Enter a **Connected App Name** (for example, `Frontegg Integration`) and a contact email. #### Step 2: Enable OAuth settings Under **API (Enable OAuth Settings)**: - Select **Enable OAuth Settings**. - **Callback URL** — Enter your Frontegg Redirect URL: `https://YOUR_MCP_GATEWAY_URL/integration-callback` - **Selected OAuth Scopes** — Add **Manage Account Engagement (Pardot) services (pardot_api)** and **Perform requests at any time (refresh_token, offline_access)**. Save the Connected App. It can take a few minutes for Salesforce to activate the new app. #### Step 3: Copy the Client ID and Client Secret Open the Connected App's **Manage Consumer Details** (you may be prompted to verify your identity). Copy the **Consumer Key** — this is your **Client ID** — and the **Consumer Secret** — this is your **Client Secret**. Keep your Client Secret safe The Consumer Secret grants access to your account through the API. Treat it like a password and never expose it in client-side code or commit it to version control. #### Step 4: Find your Business Unit ID In Salesforce, go to **Setup → Account Engagement → Business Unit Setup** and copy your **Business Unit ID**. It starts with `0Uv` and is 18 characters long. ### Configure the Frontegg portal Once you have your **Client ID**, **Client Secret**, and **Business Unit ID**, configure the integration in the Frontegg portal: 1. Open the **Frontegg portal** and navigate to [ENVIRONMENT] → Integrations → Pardot. 2. Enter the **Client ID** and the **Client Secret**. 3. Enter your **Pardot Business Unit ID** (for example, `0Uvxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx`). 4. Select the **Environment** — **Production**, **Developer / Demo org**, or **Sandbox** — to match your Account Engagement org. 5. Click **Save**. Frontegg requests the following scopes during authorization: | Scope | Description | | --- | --- | | `pardot_api` | Access and manage your Account Engagement (Pardot) data | | `refresh_token` | Maintain access to your data via a refresh token | Keep your credentials secure Never share or commit your Client Secret to version control. ### Additional resources - [Account Engagement (Pardot) API v5 documentation](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/marketing/pardot/guide/version5overview.html) - [Create a Connected App for the Account Engagement API](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/marketing/pardot/guide/authentication.html) - [How to get your Redirect URL](/agen-for-work/connectors/redirect-url)
