Listen Notes is a search engine and database of podcasts and podcast episodes.
Agen.co connects to Listen Notes through an MCP server hosted by Pipeworx, a third party that runs a general-purpose data gateway on Listen Notes's behalf, as an Official connector. Each user authorizes their own Pipeworx account, and agents can search and read Listen Notes data alongside the rest of what Pipeworx exposes.
Prerequisites
Prerequisites
- No app needs to be registered — the MCP server registers Agen.co as a client automatically, so there is no Client ID or Client Secret to copy.
- Connecting sends your Pipeworx authorization to Pipeworx, a third party that hosts this MCP server; it is not run by Listen Notes itself.

Pipeworx is a general-purpose data gateway that Listen Notes is one pack within. Adding this connector imports Pipeworx's full tool catalog — 43 tools in total, of which only 7 search or read Listen Notes data. The rest reach Pipeworx's broader catalog: SEC filings, company financials, Polymarket and Kalshi prediction markets, weather, npm package data, AI-visibility checks, and more, none of it related to podcasts. The general query tools, such as ask_pipeworx, route a question to any tool in that catalog, so they reach beyond podcasts even though this connection is scoped to Listen Notes. Turn off the tools you don't want on the Select the tools to import screen, and scope your policy to the Listen Notes tools if that's all your agents should reach.
In the Agen.co portal, go to Connectors → My connectors and click Add connector.
In the Select connector drawer, search for
Listen Notesand select it. The Add Listen Notes panel opens.Fill in the field:
Field Required Description Instance Slug Yes Prefixes each imported tool as slug__tool, so several instances of the connector can coexist. Prefilled withlisten-notes, or with the next free slug such aslisten-notes-2if Listen Notes is already connected. Use lowercase kebab-case. You can change it later from the connector's settings.Click Connect. Pipeworx opens in a new tab, and the panel shows Waiting for authorization — complete it in the opened tab…
On the Connect an application to Pipeworx screen, which reads MCP OAuth Client is asking to access your Pipeworx account, check the redirect host shown in the details box, then click Connect. The screen also states that approving lets the client use your plan's quota until you disconnect it.
Back in Agen.co, the panel switches to Select the tools to import from Listen Notes. Every tool is toggled on; turn off any you don't want to import — see the note above — then click Add.
The connector is created and its tools imported only when you click Add. If you close the panel before that, nothing is saved, even though the Pipeworx tab reported success.
Adding the connector doesn't authorize anyone's tool calls yet. The first time each user's agent calls a Listen Notes tool, the call returns an authorization link instead of a result. The user opens the link and approves the same way. After that, the user's tool calls run against their own Pipeworx account and quota.
Once connected, Listen Notes appears under My connectors with 43 tools spanning:
| Area | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Podcasts | Searching podcasts, episodes, lists, and people; reading a podcast's or episode's details; listing genres; fetching curated top podcasts; and podcast or episode recommendations |
| Universal data query | Natural-language queries and deep research routed across Pipeworx's full catalog, tool discovery, entity resolution and comparison, company profiles and financial facts, and semantic search within a fetched record |
| Prediction markets | Researching, pricing, and cross-checking Polymarket and Kalshi bets, arbitrage and edge detection, and settlement-rule audits |
| Monitoring and memory | Creating and managing subscriptions to live data feeds, reading fired alerts, and saving or recalling values across a session |
| Utilities | npm dependency checks, AI brand-visibility checks, generating llms.txt files, Pipeworx usage trends, suggested questions, and sending feedback to Pipeworx |
Only the Podcasts tools are Listen Notes data; the rest come from Pipeworx's own catalog, as the notice above explains.
Enabling the Listen Notes connector isn't enough on its own. Tool calls remain denied until you create a policy that grants access to the specific tools you want to expose.
